A weekend away with my girlfriends
A few years ago a group of my lovely friends and I travelled to Queensland which is the northern part of Australia for a long weekend in a beach side town called Noosa. We used to try and meet up once a year to catch up as we all live in different parts of Australia and it was a good reason to spend some times together. Tracey, one of my friends leased a beautiful home on the canals of Noosa.
We all arrived on a Friday and I flew in from Canberra and drove up with my friend Sandy who lives about an hour away.
The home we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and we spent most of our time on the back patio which has a huge and comfortable lounge, BBQ and large table and chairs for us to eat our meals.
It even had a lap pool, but none of were swimming that weekend; too much food and wine and gossiping to be had.
The views at sunset were even more spectacular…
As were the views at night….
Several of my friends are crazy for golf and one day we went to the golf course and whilst my friends played nine holes I walked around with them; never will I do that again…what was I thinking it was so boring…imagine watching someone hitting a ball with a stick for over an hour and half…and not only that but I forgot it takes time to get the ball ready for hitting into that small hole..so time consuming…I left them and ended up walking back to the clubhouse…
(Sandy my friend who is a very passionate golfer)
But I must say whilst it was incredibly boring walking around with the girls, there were very lovely views across the course with blossoming trees and ponds with lilies.
Back at the house, my friends made lovely food over the weekend; mostly on the BBQ with salads and fresh breads and lovely cheese and biscuits.
And Noosa not only has lovely canals but some very lovely beaches which we walked along one morning.
A wonderful time away with friends!!

It’s funny Julia. People ( clearly rich people) own these homes and its people like us who can only rent them which is lovely too. Hope you have a lovely week.

What an incredible house and the surroundings there look just beautiful! I remember many years ago when I rented together with other school friends a huge house in Denmark by the ocean for a week 🙂

We stayed a few days in Noosa one year after picking up a hire car from Brisbane Airport. We loved it there and our accommodation was also by the water. After that we headed up the coast and left the car for a few days to take a trip to Hamilton Islans in the Whitsundays – another idyllic spot! Your trip looked great, I once walked round a golf course with my husband, never again, so boring (the golf not him)!!

What an idyllic place to escape to with your lovely friends ~ I can’t think of anything better than lots of bbqs, wine and catching up over the past year whilst relaxing in that stunning house 🙂
OMgoodness a while back, when our children were much younger, we traipsed round the local golf course each weekend…the only saving grace from the boredom was my frustration trying to hit the ball round the course ;-/!! I think my handicap was just holding a club lol ~ at least you got to see the lovely flora on your walk back 😉

It was lovely I must say. Hard to imagine living there all the time – ha ha. Would be easy I am sure as long as someone else bought me the house. Too expensive. Br definitely a place you should go to when you visit if you have time.
