Early morning exercise in Swansea!
During our visit to our birthplace of Swansea, I used to exercise every morning which meant I would jog along the beach front and usually walk back to our apartment past the local homes; all whilst my brother and nephew slept. It was usually in the wee hours of the morning so I guess that is why my brother and nephew were sleeping but it was such a lovely part of the day and sometimes I would see the locals out and about with their dogs; some of them enjoying the sea (dogs not the locals). And I guess jet lag played a huge part of me being out before 5am.
I know some people are not early risers but I certainly am and love getting out and about sometimes seeing the sunrise or just enjoying the quietness of the day. And the views this time of the day along the waterfront in Swansea were lovely.Today I thought I would share the seashore of my hometown on my blog, as the photos have brought back many [many] lovely memories of me with my brother and mum down the beach before we emigrated to Australia. I must say though that this beach is so very different to some of the big surf beaches we have here in Australia; different but still lovely.

It may not be the same but it’s always good to go back home. Especially for the memories. I hope you had a great time there, despite the jet lag. By the way, do you feel the jet lag more flying east or flying west. I generally feel it more flying east.

It looks beautiful over there!! I love it, and I must say it is nice to see the blue sky too, as all your previous photos of Swansea and around were showing a (very) cloudy weather. I do enjoy the wee hours of the day when all is quiet and awaking to a new day. Now that I live again in an urban environment I do not wake up early anymore to do stuffs, but I used to when I lived in Tahiti because the sunrise was something I would not miss even for one day!!! Nice post, and I’m sure it brought back sweet memories of your childhood with you mom. Xxxxx

Wow. Speaking of clouds, whites and grays are good too! Some great shots you have here. I love that sweep of the boardwalk; great perspective. The sweeps of the beach too. And I always love dogs.

I resonate with your thoughts about jogging alone the coastline. I love having a jog beside the sea, love the feeling of peace and tranquility. I do it whenever I’ve got a chance. A lovely read! Thank you.

Lovely views Sue. I had a short unexpected visit to South Wales on Sunday evening as I had been spending the weekend in Bristol and when I returned to the station to go home I found there was a strike and instead of my inter city train up north I had to take a bus replacement to Newport (completely wrong direction) and catch an Arriva Trains Wales service up north. The journey home should have taken four and a half hours and it actually took eight! The bad news was that I had only one carton of juice and a KitKat with me and the train I had to use didn’t have a buffet car!

I also like the early morning hours and feel so productive when I manage to get up early, but… I seldom manage to do it haha. I’m a sloth and getting out of bed is so hard! Especially in the winter… brrrr!

What a trip. Dreadful to take double the time. And as for the absence of food I think I would have fainted.

I thought I had told you about the time I lived in Tahiti. Or I assumed you had read my post about beautiful days in Bora-Bora, but now I think I wrote it just weeks before we first got in touch back then (check that out on my blog through the search button if you want to see nice pics too). Thanks for teaching me Welch English! 😉

Thanks again. I retired from my job after 34 years last Friday and the first thing I did was get up early and take a long walk. I love it too.
